{"id":6460,"date":"2015-04-29T00:34:09","date_gmt":"2015-04-29T00:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.firstofallpray.com\/?p=6460"},"modified":"2015-04-29T00:34:09","modified_gmt":"2015-04-29T00:34:09","slug":"that-people-know-what-to-do-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.firstofallpray.com\/?p=6460","title":{"rendered":"That people know what to do&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">A call has come from Australia for believers\u00a0around the world\u00a0to join in prayer and <span style=\"color: #800000;\">fasting\u00a0<\/span>for America from April 30th through May 6th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Because of that, I want to recycle several blog entries I wrote last year. At that time, God\u00a0prompted me to\u00a0shift my focus as I prayed for the nation. In short, I believe God\u00a0showed me\u00a0these four things for which\u00a0to pray:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Pray for people to know what to do.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Pray for people to receive wisdom along with their knowledge.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Pray for those\u00a0people\u00a0to receive the\u00a0boldness to step out in what they know to do.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Pray for those people to be filled with boldness to carry out their tasks to completion.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Originally posted last year (third in series):<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, <strong>with knowledge of what Israel should do<\/strong>, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.<\/em> 1 Chronicles 12:32, emphasis added<\/p>\n<p>The lion\u2019s share of the shift in direction I received about praying for the nation was this: <em>Pray for people to know what to do.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>How simple is that! When you pray for others to know what to do, you don\u2019t have to know the details <em>yourself<\/em>! You don\u2019t have to have a <em>clue<\/em> what they should do. In fact, it\u2019s often \u201ccleaner\u201d that way; you\u2019re not dictating your <em>own <\/em>ideas to the Lord. You merely pray for <em>them<\/em> to get that knowledge from God\u2014whether they <em>know <\/em>it\u2019s from God or not. The results of them knowing what to do\u2014all over the nation and at every level\u2014will be God-results. And that\u2019s what we must have.<\/p>\n<p>The sons of Issachar, back in the days when David took the throne of Israel, were described as <em>men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do. <\/em>Such insight was more than likely used to help further the establishment of David\u2019s kingdom; <em>wherever<\/em> there is an abundance of men who have God-imparted understanding of\u00a0the times and know what to do, the establishment and expansion of truth, righteousness, justice, and peace can flourish.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, two verses in Proverbs 14 reveal an interesting thought: \u201c<em>When the righteous triumph, there is great elation; but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding<\/em>\u201d (verse 12, NIV), and \u201c<em>When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase<\/em>\u201d (verse 28, NASB). Consider this: the \u201cculture of correctness\u201d<em>\u2014<\/em>about which I\u00a0wrote a couple of days ago<em>\u2014<\/em>tends to target traditional\u00a0and Christian thinkers and results in thrusting\u00a0many into \u201cideological hiding\u201d from anyone who might \u201cout\u201d them.<\/p>\n<p>Men and women who know what to do by the wisdom\u00a0given to them\u00a0by the Spirit of God can be used by Him\u2014whether or not they are aware of His involvement<em>\u2014<\/em>to tip the cultural scale in favor of righteousness, freedom, and peace.<\/p>\n<p>I want to encourage you to be available to the Lord to pray for the groups and individuals that He puts on your heart. They need His knowledge to know what to do in this hour; therefore, they need<em> your<\/em> prayers. And frankly, <em>we<\/em> need<em> them<\/em> to know what to do!<\/p>\n<p>I believe that God wants to move strongly throughout this nation at all levels and in all regions so that the ministry of reconciliation\u2014winning men, women, boys, and girls to Jesus\u2014can proceed and expand unhindered in this hour. This soul-reaching, soul-winning call is for each one of us. And to pave the way for the \u201cmore than you can ask or imagine\u201d (see Ephesians 3:20) explosion of salvations which many believe is just around the corner, you and I are also called to stand in prayer for all men, kings and those who are in authority (see 1 Timothy 2:1-2). As we stand praying, we are to do so in the authority of Jesus Christ without wavering, listening for and heeding the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
